EXtreme Rules Review
[Not using the worst-to-best system, everything is chronological]
Falls Count Anywhere
Kane v. Orton
Why is this feud stll going on? To give Orton and Kane something to do...honestly, thats the only reason I could give for it still going on. To keep the feud going they are both pulling shit out of their asses to lead up to this. Hope the feud just ends after EXR.
Prediction: Orton after RKO "OUTTA NOWHERE DAWG"
-Kane sitting up against barricade, Orton rams knee into his face. Not a pop-spot but a good one.
-Kane/Orton bust into the viewing room, Zack attacks Kane during the match (but gets pushed away)
-Orton DDD on the floor using announcing table.
-Crowd REALLY into the match--Orton goes for RKo, pushed off, chock slammed, near-fall.
-Orton RKO on chair for the win. This match was a pretty good opener.
Match Rating: 2.5/5
Filler Match
Brodus Clay v. Dolph Ziggler
Match Rating; No Rating but it sucked
[Because Ziggler is still losing]
Tables Match
Big Show [C] v. Cody Rhodes
This is another feud I think should just end. If Rhodes wins then it'll continue with Show trying to get it back. If Rhodes loses, just go do something else please. These matches aren't good and the "embarrassing moments" is getting old.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes
-Cody jumps bounces off table (set up on corner) into the disaster kick. AWESOME.
-Big Show attempts to get back into the ring, gets kicked, and leg goes through a table, for Cody Rhodes victory. New IC Champ.
-After, Big Show spears Rhodes, chokeslams him through a table, and throws him out the ring through a table set-up outside the ring. Painful looking bump.
-This match was...just there. Not much to really judge since it ended so abruptly.
Match Rating: 1.0/5
[ Only because Rhodes won =) ]
World Heavyweight Championship
2 of out 3 Falls Count
Daniel Bryan v. Sheamus [C]
The match we have been wanting since WM28. That we were robbed off for bullshit shenanigans. Yes D-BRY got as over as you could possibly get after the match, but that was all Miami completely enforcing the fact. If WM was at another city with another crowd, who the fuck knows where we would be. Anyway...just want a good match and no robbery.
Prediction: Sheamus [+AJ interference]
-Sheamus with a Texas Cloverleaf, PERFECTLY applied to D-Bry.
-Daniel Bryan goes for running knee outside ring, gets caught, and SLAMMED into the barricade. Big painful spot.
-Crowd: "18 Sec-onds!" "DAN-IEL BRY-AN". Thank you Chicago
-Daniel Bryan kicks Sheamus injured arm over and over, exceeding the 5-count. Sheamus gets first fall 1-0.
-Daniel Bryan running dropkick on Sheamus shoulder into the YES!Lock, eventually taps, 1-1.
-3rd match begins, Sheamus hits a jump kick (not Brogue kick) and D-BRY kicks out. Near-fall pop.
-Sheamus hits "out of nowhere" Brogue Kick for the win and retains the title.
Match Rating: 4/5
[EXCELLENT match]
Filler Match
Ryback v. Two Local No-names
-Well...it had a pretty nasty closeline bump.
WWE Championship Match
Chicago Streetright
CM Punk [C] v. JeriTroll
The feud for this has been pretty bad. Period. Its dragged out, it could have gone with the "Best in the World" gimmick through the entire time but they dropped it for beer and liquor. Doesn't matter, these two ARE the best in the world and will put on another AMAZING match.
Prediction: CM Punk
-Kendo Stick comes out early, always a good sign.
-Jericho gets slapped by Punk's sister, tries to go after her but gets attacked and Punk loses it.
-Punk puts Jericho through the announcer's table cover (was half on table).
-Punk takes Kendo stick between Jericho's legs and LIFTS Jericho into the air with a hit to the balls. OUCH!
-I'm sorry folks, I was enjoying this match so damn much, I missed so many spots to write down. Fucking watch this match.
-THIS MATCH. WATCH IT MAN. BEST IN THE WORLD STUFF.
-CM Punk wins with a GTS
Match Rating: 4.5/5
[By all means, a 5 star match]
[The feud and where it was at held the score back though. Just.]
Divas Championship Match
-Except she is apparently, not medically cleared.
-Except Eve says its not her...
Nikki Bella v. Layla
-Holy crap! She returns! I'm happy but still want KHARMA and so does the crowd.
-Layla wins with a reverse neck breaker....alright. New Divas Champ.
Match Rating: 0.5/5
Crowd: 5/5 [For wanting KHARMA]
"Face of the Company"
John Cena [FotC] v. Brock Lesnar
Since Brock's return this feud has either been hit or miss on both ends. On keeping the crowd interested and wondering how good/bad Brock will be. He still needs a mouthpiece (Paul Heyman) but hes kind of decent. Cena looks like a coward after last week, how will he show up for this?
Prediction: Brock Lesnar
-Once again, I didn't write about any spots that happened, but I can easily summarize all that happened. It was a fight. This was not wrestling, Lesnar even came out in UFC-like gear, and it was a fight. The first elbows Lesnar throws, Cena gets busted wide-open to set the tone.
It stays that way the entire match until SuperCena appears, AA on the steel steps in the ring, for the victory in the last 1 minute of the match that lasted 20+. Seriously...
Match Rating: 1.5/5
This match was barbaric but not satisfying. Not to me anyway.
TO have a brutal match like this work, you can't have it be a squash->SUPERCENALOL
You need both sides to bring their best and cause PAIN. That didn't happen.
Lesnar hurt himself more (with a bad bump/botch),
than Cena did the entire match.
The EXTREME Verdict
This PPV SU--it was OK?
There was two GREAT matches I would encourage everybody to go watch.
Orton/Kane was decent and a good start to set the tone.
The rest just felt like filler and was boring though.
Too much up-and-down for my taste.
Final Rating: 6.5/10
[Passable]
